At Historisch Hout, we import barnwood from authentic grain barns and wine presses in the Southeast Balkan countries. These often more than 150-year-old, abandoned barns are purchased from local managers and carefully dismantled by hand. Every reclaimed oak plank tells its own story, making each one unique. Our barnwood “Sarajevo” is a beautiful aged oak wood type with a weathered character.
This barnwood is characterised by robust cracks, knots, old construction holes and unusual colour variations, which give your furniture, floor or item a unique, historical look. With barnwood ‘Sarajevo’, you bring a piece of tangible history into your home. At Historic Wood, durability is a key issue.
