Product Information
Old hand-hewn softwood planks are durable and characterful building materials, cherished for their robust appearance and historical value. These planks often originate from old farmhouse beams, barns, or other historic buildings, and can be hundreds of years old. Over time, they have developed a beautiful patina that adds to their unique, rustic charm.
Before the advent of machine woodworking, trees were felled and processed into planks by hand. This was done using traditional tools such as axes and chisels. It was a labor-intensive process in which craftsmanship played a central role.
The traces of this craftsmanship are still visible in the wood: slight imperfections, rough textures, and subtle variations in shape and thickness bear witness to the handwork and dedication of the makers of the past.
